With the rapid rise of the new energy industry, high-voltage DC protection devices, as the “safety line” of power systems, require highly reliable and efficient testing technologies. Traditional high-voltage DC high-current testing equipment relies on large-capacity power grids and suffers from high cost, significant grid impact, and long testing cycles, severely restricting industry development. In response, the R&D team led by T-Breaker tackled these challenges and innovatively proposed a small-grid-based technical route, eliminating reliance on large-capacity power grids. This technology achieves a minimum inductance of 1.7 μH, significantly shortens testing cycles, and resolves grid impact issues through multiple safety protection mechanisms. It ensures both testing accuracy and operational safety while also supporting customized testing and data analysis value-added services, providing full-chain solutions. Compared with traditional technologies, this solution achieves leapfrog improvements in stability, response speed, and energy consumption control. Under the same operating conditions, energy consumption is only 5% of traditional methods, and construction costs are reduced by 70%, driving an efficient and energy-saving transformation of the industry in alignment with the “dual carbon” and new infrastructure strategies.

The success of this award-winning project is attributed to an innovation system of “enterprise leadership, research support, and institutional collaboration.” The leading organization, Hangzhou T-Breaker Electric Co., Ltd., leveraging its industry-leading advantages, strong technical accumulation, and advanced research facilities, has established an R&D team led by principal investigators of National Natural Science Foundation projects. The company has accumulated more than 60 intellectual property rights and participated in the formulation of multiple national standards, laying a solid foundation for innovation. Partner institutions have played their respective roles, forming a complete closed loop of “technology R&D—achievement validation—industrial application.” Currently, the related technologies have been widely applied in high-voltage DC protection device testing, serving markets across multiple regions worldwide.

From a National High-Tech Enterprise to a Specialized and Sophisticated SME, and now winning the First Prize of the National Service Industry Science and Technology Innovation Award, T-Breaker has always adhered to its original mission of “high-level technology and warm service,” focusing on key and weak links in high-voltage DC protection testing. The company drives development through innovation and empowers the industry through service. In the future, T-Breaker will continue to deepen industry-academia-research collaboration, increase R&D investment, overcome core technical challenges in DC testing, and support the development of the new energy industry with high-quality products and services.
